The electric piece of shit that my wife bought for at my shop is worthless.I'm sure a much better one was availble but i dont even know why they made such a peace of shit this thing is!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe service on Bosch tankless hot water heaters is an absolute joke. Please people, DO NOT BUY BOSCH ANYTHING!!! This is one company that takes your money and then ignores you when there are any problems. They have no one to look at it even when you offer to send it to them. Hopefully this company will go broke so that these heaters disappear. I won't lose any sleep over that. Back to a regular hot water heater for me. I'm done with these clowns!!
ReplyDeleteWe have an electric one that we've used for years and it works pretty well. It's a 19 kilowatt and I wish I had gone with a size bigger. We have off-peak rates and try to shower and laundry during those times. Solar preheat would make it extremely cheap to operate but can't afford it.

There has been some changes with the electrics but by in large I agree with you. THere is a lot of great information on the online artice "Tankless 101". Google it and check it out.
ReplyDeleteLike he said, gas (LP or natural) is the ONLY way to go with tankless. The electric ones just can't put out like the gas ones. Filter or no filter. (most all come with a prefilter screen like your washing machine). The electric ones have to be larger and have lots of electricity to make hot water. Been there done that.

ReplyDeleteGot your reply to my comment. I don't see a pre filter.I am a dealer and have sold over 2k units with only six problems. 5 were people related,not the unit. 1 was a fault weld. I have 100% track record of satisfaction nd I do know what I am talkng about or I wouldn't be in business very long. You probably should step back and take a breath and take a look and take some advice instead of jumping the gun. I din't see a pre filter in your set up. Quit crying woe is me.Just get r done.

ReplyDeleteAs a plumber and prepper, I can tell you that in the event of a major SHTF, you would want to assume that all fixtures connected to the city tap are contaminated. Whether it be intentional or from natural disaster or from yahoo's trying to cross connect, it's a lot easier to just store an extra 40 gals. in your preps. If you sufficiently prepped, you won't need to rely on heater/toilet tank water.

ReplyDeletehes not saying this is a substitute for saving up emergency water, but when you have ZERO water, the water heater can be used for drinking, in fact, It is taught in natural disaster classes, including one i was in.
